Specializing in a delectable array of sandwiches, pizzas, soups, salads, and coffee, this bustling spot seamlessly blends convenience with a memorable culinary experience.

Step inside Pickleman's on Farnam Street, and you'll be welcomed by a warm, friendly atmosphere where the aroma of freshly baked garlic bread mingles with the inviting scent of simmering broccoli cheddar soup. The open kitchen setup lets you watch your pizza get crafted to perfection, adding an engaging element to your meal. Whether you're popping in for a quick lunch or gathering with friends, the environment strikes a perfect balance between casual and thoughtfully curated dining.

The menu reads like a love letter to sandwich and comfort food lovers alike. The Italian Club, stacked with savory layers of ham, turkey, and provolone, has earned high praise from regulars for its fresh ingredients and hearty portions. Meat lovers will delight in specialty pizzas like the indulgent Pepperoni Pizza or the BBQ Chicken Sandwich that layers tender chicken with smoky barbecue sauce. Vegetarians aren’t left out—the Cauliflower Veggie Pizza and fresh salads such as the tangy Asiago Caesar and the creamy Avo-Cobb Salad serve vibrant, wholesome options.

Soups at Pickleman’s carry as much weight as the sandwiches, making it an essential stop for comforting, flavorful bowls. The Broccoli Cheese Soup is decadently creamy with perfectly melted cheese and fresh broccoli florets, while the classic Tomato Bisque paired with grilled cheese creates an irresistible harmony. Customer favorites attest that the Broccoli Cheese Soup delivers rich, velvety warmth that’s both nostalgic and refined.

The cafe also shines in its selection of mac & cheese bowls, like the ultra-creamy blend of white cheddar and shell pasta in their classic Mac & Cheese, or heartier versions featuring BBQ pulled pork or buffalo chicken. Such inventive twists make it clear this is no ordinary sandwich spot.

What truly sets Pickleman's apart is the care and customization in every order. From offering lettuce wraps as a fresh, lighter alternative to bread, to speedy, attentive service that makes each guest feel valued, this local favorite strikes a perfect chord. Prospective visitors echo this sentiment, with one regular declaring it "easily the best sandwich place I've ever eaten at," noting how it surpassed well-known fast food chains with its freshness and flavor.

Whether you're battling a hangover (try the Italian Club with a side of broccoli cheddar soup) or simply craving honest, satisfying fare, Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe consistently delivers. Friendly staff, a spotless dining environment, and a menu rich with comforting options make it a must-visit for sandwiches and beyond when you're in Omaha.

Fresh, tasty, and just the right size. I ordered the Cafe Club of ham, turkey and cheese. I thought this was a lot better than Subway as the bun was better, and the portion size was better. The lettuce wrap was a great option for those that don’t want bread. Give it a go.

This place is very good. Nice counter serve sandwich joint. Tasty sandwiches and chips and soup and frooty tooty drinks. If you’re a sandwich guy I recommend stopping by. Their Italian club completely cured my hangover. As well as the broccoli cheddar soup. The only thing that could make this better is if they gave out free pickle spears with purchase of sandwich. But hey at least they gave me a lil piece of bread to dip in my soup. Can’t say I’ve had a restaurant do that. The lemonade style drinks are excellent too.

This place was great! I tried this place because my sister is obsessed with it, and I got a pizza called... uh... well I forget what it's called but it was named something about a pig or hog, with a lot of meat and peppers. All the menu names were pretty fun lol. The service was super fast and efficient, and it was fun that you could watch the pizza get made as you were waiting. There was plenty of seating and the place looked clean and smelled delicious. The only gripe I have is that it was expensive, being even worse per person than Chipotlé, but I suppose that's what you get when you order a whole pizza per person lol, so I can't complain too much. The pizza was delicious, the toppings were fresh and the sauce was great, and the crust was soft but not too soft, just the way I like it!

Took the crew (2yrs old to 56) to Picklemans on Farnam in Omaha and was very pleasantly surprised. They had a little something for all of us. The staff was patient and very helpful. The restaurant was clean, the food was great and everyone working there was super friendly. Can't ask for more than that! I will definitely be back when I'm back in town.

This is easily the best sandwich place I've ever eaten at. If you enjoy fast food restaurants like Jimmy Johns, Jersey Mike's, etc you will be absolutely amazed by this place! I had it in my first trip to Omaha in 2023, and was randomly craving it throughout the year until I went back to Omaha. I always get the Italian Beef add cheese (see my photo) and the Broccoli Cheese soup is absolutely incredible as well. Better than a sit down restaurant! Anything you get here will be amazing. The bread is crispy but not too crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Always cooked all the way through (a problem at some places like Subway). Brought my brother this trip after telling him about it for the past year. Although he's not a big sandwich or sub guy, he said this was the best meal he's had in a long time. The lines are usually long but they go pretty quickly. Go and you'll be pleased when you are eating!
